Although personality traits are still controversial for predicting social networking sites (SNS) usage, there is growing evidence that personality traits, not just Big Five Factors, but also specific personality traits such as narcissism, self-esteem, sociability and shyness, are associated with SNS usage. Future research should further predict SNS usage using more specific personality traits within the Big Five personality category.
