Non-malignant respiratory disease is a chronic life-limiting condition that requires holistic pallia-tive care. Patients with non-malignant respiratory disease have a range of biopsychosocial and spir-itual needs, which healthcare professionals should recognize and manage effectively. Healthcare professionals have an important role in enabling the delivery of effective palliative care to this group of patients and their carers, and in recognizing the many factors that may impede delivery of palliative care.
